Supervision At The Contact Boundary

Refinement of supervision practice for Gestalt supervisors.
The practice of phenomenological field oriented Gestalt supervision requires constant attention to the co-created space between supervisee and supervisor which is often neglected when issues arise in supervision sessions such as the therapist’s fear of mistakes, “stuckness”, and loss of ground. Here is a chance to refresh your commitment to working at the contact boundary, at the place where a new reality is continuously forming between you and the therapist, leading to sharper focus on client needs and the ability to direct the therapist to safe and effective interventions. Embodied relational gestalt practice can remain a mystery to practitioners for years, mistaking what seems to be the “spirituality” of relational work for the physicality of the work itself. In these four sessions with a variety of applications we will practice putting attention, not on content or desire, but on the physically felt dance of contact at the boundary where client and their suffering, client and their therapist and supervisee and supervisor meet.
