The Urban Shaman
As Gestalt practitioners we are exquisitely attuned to “otherness” Meeting that which is not yet integrated into our awareness requires that we continually change our perception to gain resonance. In this way the space between known and unknown changes the world and Gestalt opens the door to Shamanism.
For the shaman, Reality is a function of Everything that we can perceive and the way we are perceiving it at the point of assemblage – which is at the edge of what is called our Luminosity. The known world, the world which we consciously or unconsciously assemble is within our luminosity. Shamanism says since birth we naturally seek connection at the edge where we meet the unknown world of the other and expand who we know ourselves to be.
Living in cities we can become disconnected from the dynamic fields of interaction with both the known and the unknown. In this workshop we will awaken our innate tools of seeing, receiving and engaging with the ordinarily invisible, and reconnect with the sacred in the mundane.
