Therapy as a Break in The World That is Too Much

Psychotherapy to be relevant responds to the needs of the times. Today, in an overstimulated world, our experiences don’t get a chance to integrate. Everything is changing rapidly, and the supportive ground is missing. This is very different from the time when Gestalt Therapy was created. So we may need to (again, as we did in the time of a dialogical turn) reconsider our approach. How can we avoid the trap of generating new experiences and awareness in psychotherapy, and so just reinforce the over-saturation that our clients suffer from all around? How can we change our approach to promote assimilation and a supportive ground? Jan Roubal returns this year to apply field theory to our therapist experience of an anxious and overstimulated ground, and introduces his concept of “”composting”” in psychotherapy.
